What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an "effective" and evidenced based treatment or therapy that focuses on improving specific behaviors such as social skils, communication, academics, hygiene, job competence and more while working to decrease problem behaviors. The technical definition: ABA is a scientific approach for discovering environmental variables that reliably influence socially significant behavior and for developing a technology of behavior change that is applicable and practical. ABA is based in cause and effect. Reference: Cooper, John O., Heron, Timothy E. Heward, William L., (2014) Applied behavior analysis/Upper Saddle River, N.J.: Pearson/Merrill-Prentice Hall.

How do I start services?

Step 1: Complete the enrollment form and submit. Once we receive your form, a staff member will reach out to you to answer your questions, gather more information, and complete the enrollment process. Step 2: Submit required documents. You must provide a prescription for applied behavior analysis (ABA) from a medical doctor along with a diagnosis for the individual and a copy of the front and back of your insurance card(s). Step 3: Once all documents have been received, benefits will be verified. Your insurance provider could take up to 14 days to approve the services. Step 4: After we receive approval, a staff member will contact you to schedule a first meeting with you and your child to start the assessment. Once the assessment is completed, a date will be scheduled for behavior support plan training and the first day of treatment.
